Hair cut help

I'm planning on getting my hair cut tomorrow. Right now it's about the middle of my back. I did a viviscal make-over and want the picture below. My friend wants to be a stylist, so I asked if she could do it for me. She's never done an actual hair style cut before (just trims and stuff). So does anyone have videos on how to cut hair? Or have tips? What kind of scissors do you use? Do you cut it wet? Any an all help is very much appreciated! Thank you!

  1. First off go to sally's and buy a pair of shears made for cutting hair! You can get a cheep pair of shears (scissors) for $10-$20. They will make the hair cut go so much smoother. You can cut this look wet or dry. I only recommend using a razor if you have thick non-curly hair. If you do use a razor make sure to cut the hair wet. Cutting dry hair with a razor will split the ends!
Finally for this cut you are going to want to part the hair into 3 sections, each side then the back. Start in the back. Clip up everything above the middle of your ears.Make sure you're sitting up strait with legs uncrossed! Tilt your head down while she cuts this strait across at the length you want. Now look strait and have her unclip the back and clip everything above the top of your ears back. Using the already cut hair as a guide cut the next layer by pulling the hair to a 45 degree angle. Drop hair and using hair from the middle of your ears as a guide cut the rest of the hair at a 90 degree angle from the head. Finally begin on the sides unclip one side and cut strait across at the same length as the bottom of the back. Use the same technique of cutting the hair from a 45 to 90 degree angle. Finally repeat with the other side. When you're finished pull the hair up in the middle of your head and make sure it's even. Good Luck sweetie, hope this helped, and I think you will look great in this cut! If I can help anymore just let me know!
