Hair cut help

I'm planning on getting my hair cut tomorrow. Right now it's about the middle of my back. I did a viviscal make-over and want the picture below. My friend wants to be a stylist, so I asked if she could do it for me. She's never done an actual hair style cut before (just trims and stuff). So does anyone have videos on how to cut hair? Or have tips? What kind of scissors do you use? Do you cut it wet? Any an all help is very much appreciated! Thank you!

My trip to the salon

So 2 weekends ago i decided i need a hair cut. I went to the salon and asked the lady for a long layered cut. My hair was pretty long and already had layers in it. I told her i wanted to keep most of the length but didn't mind taking an inch and a half off. Well she cut 4 inches of my hair!!!! I was so sad it took me almost 9 months to a yr. to grow out even while using viviscal max. I didn't know exactly how much she was cutting bc i wear glasses and had to take them off. So i couldn't see till she was done :( i'm bummed out. Now i'm scared to go get a hair cut or trim.

Viviscal in Celebs on Sunday

A Celebs on Sunday tester in the Sunday Mirror says: During my pregnancy my hair was lovely, but after a stressful birth it started thinning. I'd had long hair since I was 13, but had cut it short. After 3 months of taking Viviscal my hair was much thicker, and within six months the problem was solved and I didn't have to take the tablets anymore.

Viviscal Clinical Trials

The main active ingredient in the Viviscal supplements is a marine cartilage which contains the naturally occurring supplement glucosamine. It is this active ingredient that sets Viviscal apart from other thinning hair treatments as glucosamine is clinically proven to work!

Unlike most other "hair loss remedies" Viviscal has undergone many scientific studies to measure its effectiveness in slowing and stopping hair loss. Here we will list those (five in all) studies and the corresponding results starting with the most recent.

Study No.5: A Double-blind study of Viviscal and placebo to investigate the effect and tolerability in persons with hair loss by The Journal of International Medical Research.
Year : 2005; no. of participants : 60 (male & female); placebo controlled? : yes
After six months:
  • 77% of the participant taking Viviscal reported positive results.
  • 45% average hair count increase for the Viviscal group.
  • No improvement reported in the placebo group.
After twelve months:
  • An increase in the average hair count of over 60% for the Viviscal group.
  • Tolerability in the Viviscal group was comparable to that of the placebo group.
All those in the placebo group after the twelve months we invited to take the Viviscal supplements and experienced similar results to the original Viviscal group. The results indicate a significant difference in hair growth between the active and placebo groups.
Study No. 4: Treatment of Androgenic Alopecia with a marine-based (Viviscal) Extract of proteins and polysaccharides.
Year : 1997; no. of participants : 200 (male)
Study No. 3: Treatment of hereditary Androgenic Alopecia in middle aged males by combined oral and topical administration of marine derived polysaccharide (Viviscal).
Year : 1994; no. of participants : 30 (male)
Study No. 2: Treatment of Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis and Alopecia Universalis with oral Viviscal
Year : 1994 ; no. of participants 84 (male and female).
Study No. 1: A comparative study of a new food Supplement, Viviscal, containing marine derived polysaccharide, with Fish extract for the treatment of Hereditary Androgenic Alopecia in young males.
Year : 1992; no. of participants : 40 (male); placebo controlled? : yes
Results of Studies 1 to 4:
  • 92% of those suffering from spot baldness (Alopecia Areat) observed permanent re-growth of hair after six month of taking Viviscal.
  • 83% People suffering from Alopecia Totalis experienced permanent re-growth of hair after a period of four months treatment.
  • In one study a 75% reported a significant decrease in thinning hair and over 14% saw re growth of new hair.
  • 85% of individual suffering from spot baldness (Alopecia Areata) were cured completely with 10% of them also seeing partial re growth of hair.
  • 80% of men reported a moderate to good improvement in the growth of their hair over six months of treatment.
  • 90% of women showed a 50% improvement.
  • 100% of men suffering from male-pattern-baldness reported that there hair had stopped thinning after 2 months, 43% reported total re growth.
